Situated in the heart of Los Angeles at 5755 W Olympic Blvd, Beverly Merlot offers an intriguing option for travelers seeking affordability without sacrificing location. Despite a modest 2-star rating, it stands out as a budget-friendly haven amid the upscale charm of Beverly Hills, a rarity in this competitive market.
Guests such as Joerg Maeckle highlight the hotel's surprising value, noting that Beverly Merlot often outperforms many 3-star properties in less desirable areas. The friendly and accommodating staff enhance the welcoming atmosphere, fostering a sense of genuine hospitality. While the $250 deposit and $70 cleaning fee may catch some off guard, these are offset by the in-room kitchens, allowing for a more personalized and cost-effective stay.
Free amenities, including Wi-Fi and parking, add to the convenience, with the hotel maintaining a smoke-free, pet-friendly environment that caters to diverse traveler needs. Though it lacks a pool, fitness center, restaurant, and airport shuttle, its prime location compensates by placing guests close to cultural landmarks like LACMA, the La Brea Tar Pits, and a vibrant dining scene within a diverse neighborhood.
Overall, Beverly Merlot embodies an honest, no-frills approach to lodging. It appeals particularly to visitors who prioritize location and practicality over luxury. Its blend of accessibility, reasonable pricing, and welcoming service makes it a notable contender among budget accommodations in Los Angeles.

This is clearly one of the better budget hotels and even better than a lot of 3-star hotels in the middle of nowhere I’ve stayed in before. Finding something at this price rage anywhere in the greater LA area is next to impossible. This one is even in Beverly Hills!! The management and staff is really friendly and helpful. And yes, there’s a $250 deposit and a $70 cleaning fee but you’ll get the deposit back (not a scam!) and even with the fee included it’s an amazing deal for what you’ll get. The rooms are nice, clean and really large. I’m happy with the service and I’ve enjoyed my stay!
